Come on out for our preview/showcase days this year! The sale will run Wednesday, December 11 at 5pm through Saturday, December 14 at 5pm. If you are thinking about adopting please get pre-approved - the process is a breeze through This Old Horse, Inc.! Register to bid at Designer Horse Sales, LLC, then head to the UWRF Campus Farm to meet and greet the students and horses, ask all your burning questions, and watch the students show off their hard work. We can't wait to see you there!
Are you interested in adopting a horse from the UWRF Racehorse Retraining Program? Congratulations! Here is some information that will help you along the way.
1. All adopters must be approved through This Old Horse (Racehorse Reimagined) prior to taking their new horse home. Approval is easy and quick, so if you’re interested in adopting, please visit www.thisoldhorse.org or contact kcable@thisoldhorse.org as soon as possible to get the process completed.
2. Horses may be pre-purchased at the potential buyer’s expense, with the veterinarian of the buyer’s choosing. If the potential buyer cannot be present for the PPE, arrangements may be made with UWRF by contacting rachael.walker@uwrf.edu
3. Potential buyers must be registered with Designer Horse Sales to receive a bidding number prior to bidding on the horses during the auction. Visit www.designerhorsesales.com or download the app to complete registration!
4. Horses must leave the UWRF barn no later than Wednesday, December 18. Potential buyers need to ensure that arrangements have been made to move the horse to its new home prior to bidding on a horse through the auction.
